Silvia Bonaccio is the Ian Telfer Professor of Workplace Psychology at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management. Dr. Bonaccio contributed to CSIOP in numerous capacities, beginning with Program Chair between 2012 and 2014. As Program Chair, she was responsible for the programs of the 2013 (Quebec City) and 2014 (Vancouver) conferences. In addition to ensuring a high-quality regular program, she organized the 2014 CSIOP Institute, held at the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business. Dr. Bonaccio then served as Chair-Elect, Chair, and Past-Chair from 2014 to 2017. Her term as Chair coincided with CSIOP's 40th anniversary, and her efforts were directed toward "Preserving our History." Many historical documents (e.g., newsletter, lists of award recipients) available on the website are a result of this effort. She co-authored an article for SIOP's The Industrial Psychologist, which summarizes the history of IO in Canada. Along with Dr. Francois Chiocchio, she spearheaded a bilingual publication () for Canadian Psychology, which focused on bridging divides in IO psychology across Canada.
After Serving her formal terms on the Executive, Dr. Bonaccio continued to contribute to CSIOP as a Special Collaborator, helping with the program for the Montreal 2018 ICAP Congress (hosted by CPA). She received the 2018 Joan Finnegan Award for Outstanding Contribution to CSIOP from Dr. Lisa Keeping, at the 2018 ICAP Congress in Dr. Bonaccio’s hometown, Montreal.
The highlight of Dr. Bonaccio's time on the CSIOP Executive has undoubtedly been the opportunity to share her passion for IO psychology with like-minded colleagues across Canada.
