CSIOP Outstanding Practitioner Award
This award is to recognize a practitioner who is using their background in industrial/organizational psychology to make a positive impact in industry in their role as a practitioner (while recognizing the title of “practitioner” can refer to many different types of positions). For instance, the individual may have made significant contributions to organizational functioning, or have evidence of contributing to a major change in an organization, or have introduced new/innovative insights and approaches to organizations. In accordance with the values of I/O psychology, this individual would also be practicing evidence-based approaches to achieve these impacts.
In order to be eligible for this award, individuals must:
Have obtained their Masters or PhD in I/O psychology, and is no longer enrolled in a graduate program (i.e., a student in a PhD program but that has finished their Masters program would not be eligible).
Be a member of CSIOP at the time of application, or willing to become one should they win
Conduct work in I/O psychology or a directly relevant field (e.g., organizational behaviour)
Nomination packages will include:
The nominee’s CV
A letter of nomination of no more than two pages, which should detail the most notable contributions. Self-nominations are allowed.
Up to three letters of support (which do not have to be from CPA/CSIOP members). Letters can be provided from either academic or applied sources (e.g., organizations positively impacted by the individual).
We also would like to note that we encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and recognize that contributions can come in many different forms and may be dependent on the area of practice.
Please submit your nomination package to pastchair@csiop-scpio.ca by November 30, 2024. All nominees will be evaluated by a panel of CSIOP members.
